How We Serve Clients in Port Wentworth

This page focuses on the recovery factors that shape care for a herniated disc. The herniated disc treatment service is for people with back pain, sciatica, neck pain, or movement limits after injury or strain.

The disc location matters because symptoms can reach different areas of the body. Nerve pressure, activity levels, posture habits, and treatment consistency also affect the care decision. Our team uses the exam findings and your goals to discuss suitable options.

Care has limits. Severe or changing neurological symptoms need medical evaluation, and chiropractic care isn't a replacement for emergency assessment. We coordinate care when another type of medical review is needed.

  • Ask which symptoms may relate to disc or nerve pressure.
  • Share past injuries, imaging, and changes in strength or sensation.
  • Discuss how work, exercise, sleep, and daily movement affect recovery.
  • Ask how progress will be checked during care.

Process

1

Review symptoms and health history

We discuss your symptoms, injury history, activity limits, and recovery goals during the new patient intake.

2

Check movement and nerve signs

The examination considers movement, strength, sensation, and other findings that may relate to disc or nerve pressure.

3

Consider imaging when indicated

We consider diagnostic imaging when clinical findings show that it may help guide the care decision.

4

Explain findings and care options

We review the findings and discuss options such as spinal manipulation, decompression, soft tissue therapy, or exercise.

5

Track progress during care

Follow-up checks help compare movement, symptoms, and daily function with the goals set in your treatment plan.

How we approach herniated disc care

Assessment guides the treatment choice

We consider disc location, nerve pressure, movement, and symptoms before discussing care. The wrong fit is care that ignores serious neurological changes or needs medical treatment outside chiropractic services.

Plans match your recovery goals

Your plan may combine spinal manipulation, spinal decompression, soft tissue therapy, and exercise. We explain why each option may fit your findings and daily needs.

Injury care includes claim support

Auto accident, workplace, sports, and other traumatic injuries may involve insurance documents or personal injury claims. We help organize treatment information and coordinate with attorneys when appropriate.

Treatment options for different recovery needs

These options address different parts of disc-related care and may be combined when the assessment supports them.

Treatment optionWhat it addressesHow we decide
Spinal manipulationJoint movement and related spinal restrictionsExam findings and symptom response guide suitability
Spinal decompressionControlled unloading for selected disc-related symptomsWe consider nerve pressure, movement limits, and health history

Earlier this year I had a reoccurring injury. It usually flares up every few years, this year it happened twice . The first time ,I went to The Joint and another chiropractor for 2 and a half weeks. I missed almost 2 weeks of work, so in September, it hit again, so I was able to make a Friday appointment. I went in and got a substantial amount relief after one visit. I took 1 day off to get another treatment. I only missed 1 day of work, by my choice. In May with 2 other chiropractors I missed almost 2 weeks. Unless I move, I'M NOT GOING TO ANYONE ELSE!. Dr Harris and her staff was great. I've been to several chiropractors in Georgia and Florida. She is the best that I've had and she gave me countless tips to prevent more painful flare upset. Thank you Doc !

Coming into the office, the ladies at the reception desk were very professional and welcoming. They are very knowledgeable about the services that are offer in the office and as well as provided valuable aftercare information. The doctors that offer treatment are very pleasant to speak with and handled each patient with care. As first time patient, the experience overall was very satisfying. I would highly recommend anyone needing care to give the office in Garden City a call or stop by, walk-ins are taken as well. Smile.

Questions about care for a herniated disc

What can affect recovery from a herniated disc?

Posture habits can affect recovery when they add repeated strain during work, sleep, or daily movement. Disc location and nerve pressure also shape symptoms. Activity levels matter because sudden increases may irritate the area. Treatment consistency helps the care plan stay on track, while serious weakness or bladder and bowel changes require medical evaluation.

Which symptoms should I discuss during my first visit?

Back pain, leg pain, numbness, tingling, weakness, and movement limits all belong in the first discussion. Describe when symptoms began and what activities change them. Bring imaging or health records if you have them. Our team uses those details with the exam to discuss suitable care options.

How does spinal decompression fit a disc care plan?

Spinal decompression may fit when the exam suggests controlled unloading could support your symptoms and goals. It isn't the right choice for every condition. We consider nerve signs, movement limits, health history, and other findings before discussing it. Your plan may also include exercise or soft tissue therapy.

What changes the cost of treatment for a herniated disc?

The assessment, selected treatment methods, imaging needs, and injury documentation can change the cost. Upfront pricing helps you understand charges before care begins. Insurance benefits and personal injury claims may affect how documentation is handled. Ask our team to explain the services included in your recommended plan.

When should I seek urgent medical evaluation?

New loss of bladder or bowel control, saddle numbness, or severe worsening weakness needs urgent medical evaluation. These signs can point to a serious nerve problem. Chiropractic treatment should not delay emergency care. If symptoms are less severe but persistent, an assessment can help decide whether chiropractic services fit.

Why might pain return after activity improves?

Pain may return when activity rises faster than movement control or strength can support. Work demands, exercise, sleep position, and repeated bending can also affect symptoms. We review those patterns during care and may discuss therapeutic exercises, activity changes, and regular maintenance after the active phase.
