Scope and Service Overview for Isle of Hope

Herniated disc treatment focuses on symptoms such as back pain, leg pain, numbness, tingling, and muscle weakness. Our care is for people whose symptoms affect walking, sitting, work, sleep, or daily tasks.

The first decision is whether chiropractic care fits your condition. We use a new patient intake, health history, and exam to understand how your spine and muscles are moving. X-rays may be considered if clinically indicated.

A herniated disc can need care beyond chiropractic treatment. Severe weakness, loss of bladder or bowel control, or sudden major symptoms need prompt medical evaluation. We discuss the limits of treatment and coordinate care when another type of evaluation is needed.

  • Note when symptoms began and whether they travel into an arm or leg.
  • Bring any prior imaging or injury details that may help explain the symptoms.
  • Tell us about numbness, tingling, weakness, and movements that increase discomfort.
  • Ask how spinal manipulation, exercises, or decompression fit your care plan.

Earlier this year I had a reoccurring injury. It usually flares up every few years, this year it happened twice . The first time ,I went to The Joint and another chiropractor for 2 and a half weeks. I missed almost 2 weeks of work, so in September, it hit again, so I was able to make a Friday appointment. I went in and got a substantial amount relief after one visit. I took 1 day off to get another treatment. I only missed 1 day of work, by my choice. In May with 2 other chiropractors I missed almost 2 weeks. Unless I move, I'M NOT GOING TO ANYONE ELSE!. Dr Harris and her staff was great. I've been to several chiropractors in Georgia and Florida. She is the best that I've had and she gave me countless tips to prevent more painful flare upset. Thank you Doc !

Coming into the office, the ladies at the reception desk were very professional and welcoming. They are very knowledgeable about the services that are offer in the office and as well as provided valuable aftercare information. The doctors that offer treatment are very pleasant to speak with and handled each patient with care. As first time patient, the experience overall was very satisfying. I would highly recommend anyone needing care to give the office in Garden City a call or stop by, walk-ins are taken as well. Smile.

Questions about care for a herniated disc

During the initial review, what symptoms can herniated disc treatment help relieve during the scheduling phase?

Back pain, leg pain, numbness, tingling, and muscle weakness are symptoms herniated disc treatment may address. The first visit links your symptoms with movement findings and health history. Care may include spinal manipulation, therapeutic exercises, soft tissue therapy, or spinal decompression. Individual response differs, and severe weakness needs prompt medical evaluation.

How does a chiropractor check whether this treatment fits?

A health history and movement exam help determine whether chiropractic care fits your symptoms. We ask about the injury, pain pattern, numbness, tingling, and weakness. X-rays may be considered if clinically indicated. Findings are explained before we discuss a personalized treatment plan, and we identify when another medical evaluation is more suitable.

Which daily activities should I mention during my visit?

Daily activities that increase symptoms help us understand how the condition affects your movement. Tell us about sitting, walking, lifting, bending, sleep, work tasks, and driving. Your answers help shape the exam and exercise plan. Bring prior imaging or injury details if you have them, but you don't need to wait for records before asking about an appointment.

When is numbness or weakness a reason to seek medical care first?

Sudden or severe weakness, loss of bladder or bowel control, or rapidly changing numbness needs prompt medical care first. Those signs can require urgent evaluation beyond chiropractic treatment. Ongoing mild symptoms still deserve a careful assessment. We review your history and discuss whether our care fits or whether another evaluation should come first.

Why might spinal decompression be included in my plan for Herniated Disc Treatment?

Spinal decompression may be included when the exam shows it fits your symptoms and movement goals. It uses a treatment table as part of a broader plan, not as a stand-alone promise. We may pair it with exercises, soft tissue therapy, or other care. Individual response differs, so we explain the reason for each option.

What changes the price of care for a herniated disc?

The assessment, selected treatment methods, and related services change the cost of care. A plan that includes exercises differs from one that also includes massage therapy or spinal decompression. Insurance documentation and personal injury claims can add paperwork steps. We discuss upfront pricing for the recommended care before treatment begins.

Can I request an appointment after an auto accident?

Yes, same-day appointments, walk-ins, and weekday evening availability support patients seeking care after an auto accident. Tell us when the accident happened and describe your current symptoms. We can discuss injury care, insurance documentation, and personal injury claims. Severe or rapidly changing symptoms need medical attention before a chiropractic visit.
